Prices, quantities and ordering
What does firewood cost at SchitliExpress?
One Ster of 33 cm beech firewood costs CHF 309.00, the 25 cm version CHF 319.00 – both include delivery and stacking. The Starter Pack A–Z with 1 Ster and kindling costs CHF 329.00, the All-in-One GrillBox CHF 23.95.
What is a Ster?
A Ster is one cubic metre of stacked wood (a "Raummeter"). One Ster of our beech firewood weighs about 450 kg.
33 cm or 25 cm – which log length do I need?
33 cm is our standard length for fireplaces and wood stoves. For smaller fireboxes, choose 25 cm. If in doubt, measure the depth of your firebox.
How can I pay?
By prepayment, Twint, credit card, or cash on delivery. Clause 4 of our Terms of service applies.
Do the prices include VAT?
Yes. All prices are in Swiss francs and include the statutory VAT.
Delivery and stacking
How long does delivery take?
We deliver small quantities like the GrillBox within 2–3 working days. Firewood with stacking, privacy screens and firewood on pallets within 6–12 working days.
Does delivery cost anything?
No. Delivery is free, with no hidden costs. For Ster orders, stacking is included too.
Where do you stack the wood?
We stack the wood up to 50 m from the drop-off point – wherever you need it, for example under a roof overhang, in the garage or on the balcony.
What do I need to prepare before delivery?
Clear the spot where we'll be stacking the wood. For pallet deliveries we need a firm, level surface – no steps, gravel or larger bumps – so we can move the pallet into place. Details are in clause 6 of our Terms of service.
Do you deliver to my region?
We deliver to the cantons of Aargau, Basel-Landschaft, Basel-Stadt, Lucerne, Nidwalden, Obwalden, Schwyz, Solothurn, Thurgau, Zug and Zurich. We deliver to all other cantons on request: send us your postcode via WhatsApp or the contact form, and we'll confirm the delivery date and process. Deliveries abroad can be arranged on request.
Can extra costs still apply on top of free delivery?
Delivery itself is free. We only pass on genuine extra costs, for example mountain railways, car transport trains, ferries, or permit fees. If a pallet has to be moved across unpaved ground, we charge CHF 85.00 per hour including VAT for the extra effort. Clauses 5 and 6 of our Terms of service apply.
Wood, quality and changes
How dry is the wood?
Our beech firewood has a moisture content below 18%, so it's ready to burn right away.
Where does the wood come from?
From Swiss forests and responsible, regional forestry. You'll find the scientific names of the wood species at holzdeklaration.ch.
Can I still change or cancel an order?
As long as we haven't confirmed your order yet, you can cancel it in writing by email or post within 5 days. After that, clause 2 of our Terms of service applies. The fastest way to reach us is via WhatsApp or at info@schitliexpress.ch.
What do I do if something's wrong with the delivery?
Please contact us immediately at handover or right after, via WhatsApp or at info@schitliexpress.ch. That way we can check the issue and find a solution.
